Relining Flue to Evacuate Chemical Gases – FuranFlex Case Studies

kings school canterbury

Initial situation:
Following a successful CPD on chimneys and chimney lining with the main architect, the decision to use Toast (Southern) Ltd to install FuranFlex was made.

Project challenge:
The installation company was asked to investigate the use of Furanflex in the King School’s science laboratory for the evacuation of chemical gases.
After consulting with the client and the manufacturer it was decided that using FURANFLEX-25 Black liner in this situation was most beneficial.

Result:
Whilst the school was closed for half term the installation team was instructed to install 3x FURANFLEX-25 Black liners. All 3 liners took 2 days to install with an extra day to prep and set up. The resin used in FuranFlex is highly stable and corrosion resistant protecting the chimney from acidic agents, and the resulting one-piece liner is completely gas-tight and waterproof.
