Background
A mid‑Victorian former hunting lodge, set within 20 acres of woodland and farmland near Swaledale in North Yorkshire, has undergone a remarkable chimney transformation.
This historic property originally had three very different chimneys: one long disused, one serving a wood‑burning stove, and one operating with a gas fire.
Statement of work
To bring the building back to its original character, all three were lined using FuranFlex‑25 RWV, the only modern lining technology capable of safely achieving the large, open‑fire diameters required in a heritage structure like this.
With the old liners removed and the chimneys reshaped internally by the steam‑cured composite, the lodge now enjoys three beautiful open fires — reinstated exactly as the property’s Victorian designers intended.
